Bhumi Pednekar On Whether She Would Consider Joining Politics
Bhumi Pednekar spoke today at an event organized by NDTV Marathi “Manch” on the women’s empowerment of Maharashtra. When asked whether she would consider joining politics in the future, Bhumi said, “Dekhiye, mere khoon mein meri desh ki seva hai. Ab who jis bhi form mein aaye. Main jo apni kahaaniyon se kar rahi hu, wahi karne ki koshish kar rahi hu. Agar mujhe aage opportunity mili ki main aur zyada deeply ye kaam kar pau, why not? (Serving my country is in my blood. No matter what form that service takes, I will always embrace it. Right now, I am trying to do that through the stories I tell. If I get an opportunity in the future to contribute in a deeper and more meaningful way, then why not?).”
She further added, “Lekin mera ek bohot simple ideology rahi hai wo yahi hai ki main jitni apni desh ki sewa kar pau main karungi. Toh jitna bhi main off-screen bhi karti hu wo isi wajah se karti hu. Kyunki main wo hu. Ab jis bhi form me aaye. (My ideology has always been very simple—I want to serve my country as much as I can. Even the work I do off-screen is driven by the same belief. That is who I am. Whatever form it may take, my intention remains the same).”
