Celebrities often find themselves under constant public scrutiny, whether it is about their fashion choices, their bodies, or even how they appear in candid photographs. Many times, they are clicked by
paparazzi without consent, and when those pictures land on social media, they quickly become the subject of harsh comments and trolling.
Something similar happened to Kajol recently. The actress was attending an event when a video of her was posted online by a paparazzo account. Kajol looked stunning in a black body-hugging gown with metallic detailing on the neckline. The dress showed off her figure while keeping the look elegant. She kept her makeup minimal, her hair in soft waves, and let her natural beauty and bright smile do the talking. Instead of focusing on her appearance at the event, several users filled the comment section with speculation about whether she was pregnant.
Amid the insensitive chatter, actress and host Mini Mathur came forward in Kajol’s defence. Slamming the intrusive behaviour, she wrote in the comments, “How dare you zoom in on her body???? She doesn’t owe you guys eternal youth. You don’t get to decide how she should look.” Her strong reaction struck a chord with many fans, who agreed that such remarks and unwarranted discussions about a woman’s body cross the line.
Kajol is all set to return in her bold and fearless avatar on-screen. She is set to reprise her role as Noyonika Sengupta, a housewife who makes a comeback to her legal career after husband’s (played by Jisshu Sengupta) imprisonment in the second season of The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha.
The Trial, an Indian adaptation of the American legal drama The Good Wife, will showcase Noyonika Sengupta navigating new obstacles and betrayals in the legal profession while dealing with personal struggles in the upcoming season, as said by the actress during the trailer launch event.
