Nepal Prime Minister and all members of the Council of Ministers will contribute one month’s salary and remuneration to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund following the disaster along the Nepal-China
border and the Bhotekoshi River.
Government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmita Pokharel said the decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday.
Cabinet Approves Salary Contribution
According to the Cabinet decision, the Prime Minister and all members of the Council of Ministers will deposit one month’s salary and remuneration into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
The contribution comes in response to the disaster that occurred along the Nepal-China border and the Bhotekoshi River on August 26.
Funds To Support Disaster Relief
The Cabinet’s decision will channel the one-month salary and remuneration of the Prime Minister and ministers into the designated disaster relief fund.
Government spokesperson Sasmita Pokharel confirmed the decision following Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.
