The Delhi Police have announced a detailed security and facilitation plan for the 77th Republic Day celebrations, scheduled to take place at Kartavya Path on January 26.
According to the officials, the arrangements
are aimed at ensuring both safety and smooth movement for thousands of guests expected at the national event.
Security has been heightened, with Delhi Police and paramilitary forces deployed to ensure safety during the celebrations.
The event will be attended by dignitaries and invitees from across the country, making extensive preparations essential.
Additional Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar Mahla said the focus is on maintaining a secure environment while also making it easy for guests to access the venue.
“As the nation prepares to celebrate the 77th Republic Day, police remain fully committed to ensuring a safe, secure and celebratory atmosphere for all citizens and invitees,” he said.
He also highlighted a new initiative introduced this year. The enclosures at Kartavya Path have been renamed after Indian rivers to help with better identification and smoother facilitation of visitors during the event.
