Shubman Gill returned to the India ODI team as captain, while veterans Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja will once again feature in the limited-overs format for India’s three-game ODI series
against New Zealand.
The big news is that Shreyas Iyer is back in the squad, though his participation is contingent on fitness clearance from the BCCI COE. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya has not been cleared by the BCCI COE to bowl 10 overs in a match, and with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup coming up, his workload is being managed.
Mohammed Siraj, who was previously overlooked for the home series against South Africa, has been reinstated in the ODI squad.
No Ruturaj Angers Fans
Despite scoring a commendable hundred during the South Africa series, Ruturaj Gaikwad did not make it into the selectors’ final choice.
And, fans were not happy.
