India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train on the Howrah-Kamakhya route is getting noticed for more than just overnight comfort. A recent video has drawn attention to a special feature meant for pet owners
travelling with dogs. The clip gives a closer look at a dedicated dog box inside the train and explains how it works.
The video has sparked mixed reactions online, with many people sharing their views on pet travel and railway facilities.
A Closer Look At The Dog Box
The video opens with a man recording the inside of the Vande Bharat sleeper train as he points out a special space meant for dogs. He begins by saying, “So this is the new India, where a special compartment has been created for animals, a dog box.” The camera then focuses on a white, cage-like box placed near the coach wall, with luggage kept on top of it.
The dog box appears sturdy and well-ventilated, with grills on the sides and doors secured with latches. From the visuals, it is clear that the box is designed to safely hold a pet during the journey without disturbing other passengers in the coach.
The Video Explains How The Dog Box Works
As the clip continues, the man adds, “Look, our Vande Bharat Sleeper train is running, and inside you will find this dog box, which has a separate compartment for water and another for food for the dog. If you want to travel with your dog, you will need to book this dog box, where you can take your dog with you.” The video shows space inside the box meant to place food and water containers, highlighting that pets are provided for during the journey.
The short reel aims to show that pet owners now have a fixed space to carry their dogs on overnight train trips, instead of managing on their own or leaving pets behind.
The caption of the video reads, “Dog box in Vande Bharat sleeper train.”
