A few days after announcing the closure of his Rs 100 crore courses business, entrepreneur and content creator Ankur Warikoo shared on X, the disciplined morning routine he has been following for the past
several years, which, according to him, has helped him stay mentally and physically balanced.
In the post shared on the social media platform, he explained in the caption that he wakes up between 4:30 and 5 am every day, including weekends, and begins his mornings slowly with a glass of water.
“I wake up between 4:30 and 5 a.m. every day (including weekends). First thing I do is sip a glass of water for 10-15 minutes. This allows me to wake up slowly. To savour the first touch of water. To set the day’s rhythm (which is to avoid feeling rushed),” he wrote.
Why is my morning routine structured the way it is?

Unlike many who start their mornings scrolling through phones and notifications, Warikoo avoids screens entirely in the early hours of the day. He spends the next 30 minutes meditating and reflecting on his thoughts.
“So, before I listen to or attend to anyone, I attend to myself. Haven’t missed a day for 6 years now!” he shared.
Reading is another non-negotiable part of his schedule. Warikoo dedicates half an hour every morning to books, saying the practice helps him nourish his mind before distractions take over.
“This is to feed my mind the right diet. So, before garbage enters my mind (through mindless scrolling, emails, or messages), I nourish it,” he explained.
He then spends time helping his children get ready for school, calling fatherhood the most meaningful role in his life.
Fitness also plays a major role in his day. Warikoo revealed that he plays tennis for an hour before heading to the gym for strength training.
“Then I play tennis for an hour. This is to wake up my body. Get it moving. Taste the sweat,” he wrote, adding, “Then I lift weights at the gym for an hour. This is to strengthen the body, build muscles, so that it can age well and hopefully provide me good company as I age.”
Only after completing these activities does he check the news, spending around 15 minutes reading the newspaper on his own terms rather than consuming endless updates online.
“But I am reading the news that I chose to read. To the extent I chose to read. I won’t be dragged into a mindless debate, and I’m not being offered any breaking news,” he added.
After showering, Warikoo begins his workday at around 9:30 am. According to him, he has maintained this schedule consistently for the past four to five years.
“It has cleansed and nourished my mind, soul, and body. Ready to face what the world offers,” he wrote.
He also clarified that while the routine works well for him, everyone should find a system suited to their own lifestyle and needs.
“Build yours today,” he concluded.
