The film has drawn comparisons with Chennai Express
While excitement is building around Param Sundari, the film has also attracted attention due to supposed similarities with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Chennai Express.
Some critics online have pointed out parallels in the storyline, while Janhvi Kapoor has also faced comments about her accent in the film, especially from a Malayali actress and influencer.
Responding to these remarks, Janhvi recently clarified in a recent interview with Mirchi Plus that her role is rooted in cultural authenticity. “I portray a character from Kerala, but it’s important to note that not all South Indians should be seen as the same. The cultural nuances are distinct, and this is not a repetitive narrative. Films like 2 States had their own similarities, but that came after Chennai Express. Such films are not released every year, and let’s be honest, Chennai Express is a classic with memorable characters and performances,” she explained.
What Param Sundari is all about
Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari is a romantic drama that explores a cross-cultural love story. The narrative revolves around two characters from very different backgrounds, one from Delhi and the other from Kerala, who fall in love and face the challenges that come with their differences.
Alongside Janhvi and Sidharth, the film also stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya in pivotal roles.
With a strong cast, vibrant cultural setting, and Janhvi’s growing popularity, Param Sundari is being seen as one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
As promotions pick up and festivities like Ganesh Chaturthi add to the buzz, the film is steadily gaining momentum among audiences eagerly waiting to see the story unfold on the big screen.
