Folk Singer Maithili Thakur will contest from Bihar’s Alinagar constituency, as the BJP announced its second list of candidates on Tuesday. The list includes 12 names, bringing the party’s total declared
candidates to 83 out of 101.
The BJP’s second list of candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections includes Maithili Thakur from Alinagar, Ram Chandra Prasad from Hayaghat, Ranjan Kumar from Muzaffarpur, and Subhash Singh from Gopalganj.
Other candidates named are Kedar Nath Singh from Baniapur, Chhoti Kumari from Chapra, Vinay Kumar Singh from Sonepur, Birendra Kumar from Rosera (SC), Dr. Siyaram Singh from Barh, Mahesh Paswan from Agiaon (SC), Rakesh Ojha from Shahpur, and Anand Mishra, IPS, from Buxar.

On October 14, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its first list of 71 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
The polling for the 243-seat Assembly is scheduled to be held on November 6 and November 11, with counting set for November 14.
According to the release, the BJP Central Election Committee met on October 12, under the chairmanship of Jagat Prakash Nadda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, along with other members of the Central Election Committee, were present during the deliberations.
The Central Election Committee approved Mangal Pandey for Siwan, Tarkishore Prasad for Katihar, Ramkripal Yadav for Danapur, Nitin Nabin for Bankipur, Renu Devi for Bettiah, Prem Kumar for Gaya Town, Shreyasi Singh for Jamui, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Deputy Chief Minister, for Lakhisarai, and Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary for Tarapur for the Bihar Assembly elections among others.
