Adhvaith Nayar’s Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies released in theatres today, January 22. The film, starring an ensemble of talented actors, introduces audiences to the gritty and energetic world of underground
wrestling in Kerala. Blending sport, emotion, and identity, the film draws inspiration from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and promises packed action with a distinct local flavour.
A day ahead of the release, filmmaker and producer Karan Johar, who is presenting the Hindi version of the film, took to social media to generate buzz. Sharing a glimpse from the movie, the Rocky And Rani Kii Prem Kahani director wrote, “Dare to step into the…Ring Of Rowdies with #ChathaPacha! Releasing worldwide tomorrow, book your tickets now!”
He also re-shared the trailer on his Instagram Stories, adding, “Friday Fight Night, but witness it tomorrow onwards with Chatha Pacha.”
Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies: Storyline And Cast
The Malayalam action-comedy, made under the direction of Advaith Nayar, is based on World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies follows a group of misfits who come together to form a wrestling club in Kochi, navigating ambition, rivalry, and self-discovery along the way. The film stars Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, and Ishan Shoukath in lead roles, along with Siddique and Lakshmi Menon in supporting roles. The film also features a cameo from Mammootty.

Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies – Technical Team And Distribution Rights
Designed as a pan-India release, Chatha Pacha is distributed in Kerala by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is presenting the Hindi version, while PVR Inox Pictures is managing distribution in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
On the technical front, the film’s cinematography is handled by Anend C Chandran, with wrestling action sequences designed by Kalai Kingson. Editing is by Praveen Prabhakar, and the screenplay is penned by Sanoop Thykoodam. Mujeeb Majeed has composed the original background score. The celebrated Bollywood trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy have contributed music to the Malayalam film, with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar. It is to be noted that this has happened for the first time the trio has joined hands for a Malayalam film.
