The White House has rolled out a website rewriting the record of January 6, 2021, hailing the pro-Trump protesters who stormed the US Capitol as “peaceful protesters” provoked by law enforcement and then
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
January 6, 2021, refers to the day a pro-Trump mob breached the US Capitol in Washington as Congress met to certify Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election. The attack forced lawmakers into hiding, left several people dead and injured, disrupted the constitutional transfer of power and is widely regarded as one of the most serious assaults on US democratic institutions in modern history.
The website rolled out on Tuesday has claimed that since the incident “Nancy Pelosi spent over 3 years and nearly $20 million in taxpayer funds on her partisan Select Committee, producing a scripted TV spectacle to fabricate an “insurrection” narrative and pin all blame on President Trump”.
Thousands of Americans paid the price for failures they didn’t create.
President Trump delivered pardons.
Pelosi admitted responsibility.

It further stated: “Video and audio recordings, including unaired HBO footage from her own daughter, show Nancy Pelosi repeatedly acknowledging responsibility for the catastrophic security failures—admitting “We have totally failed” and “I take full responsibility” for not having the National Guard pre-deployed, despite intelligence warnings and President Trump’s offers of troops that were ignored under her leadership as Speaker.”
Besides recasting the rioters as “1,600 patriotic Americans prosecuted for their presence at the Capitol”, it has also depicted Trump as the hero who “took decisive action to pardon January 6 defendants who were unfairly targeted, overcharged, and used as political examples”.
The website also blamed the Democrats for giving a “reversed reality” of the incident by “branding peaceful patriotic protesters as ‘insurrectionists’ and framing the event as a violent coup attempt orchestrated by Trump—despite no evidence of armed rebellion or intent to overthrow the government”.
It claimed that the Democrats had, infact, staged the “real insurrection by certifying a fraud-ridden election, ignoring widespread irregularities, and weaponizing federal agencies to hunt down dissenters”.
Later, White House communications director Steven Cheung said in a post on X: “LOL! Can’t believe MSDNC actually fell for our trap in covering the new January 6 page on the White House website.”
