Blinkit’s 24/7 free ambulance service has received heartfelt praise from a man whose friend was able to get his mother emergency ward care within just 20 minutes of leaving home. The fast-growing e-commerce
delivery app, which expanded its offerings last year to include ambulance and medical services, was lauded once again after the family benefited immensely from this facility.
Now, a man has expressed gratitude towards the rising e-commerce entity for this facility after their friend’s mother benefited immensely from it. In a post shared on X, this man detailed how Blinkit’s ambulance service proved to be a “lifesaver” when the elderly woman desperately needed medical attention.
‘Both Paramedic, Driver Were Top-notch’
“Dear Blinkit, your ambulance service is a lifesaver indeed. Just this morning, a classmate of mine requested for an ambulance in Gurugram. It arrived in 4 minutes and his mom was in the emergency ward of a hospital within 20 minutes. Both the paramedic attendants and the driver were top-notch and took excellent care of the patient,” wrote the man in his post.

The man revealed that their classmate’s mother was soon stabilised by the doctors and the staff at this medical facility, which they managed to reach quickly, as the ambulance from Blinkit arrived within 4 minutes of booking. In the post, the man detailed that this woman’s son went out to thank the Blinkit’s ambulance driver and the paramedic staff later on, but found that they had already left the premises.
“Two minutes later, he got the scolding of his life from his wife for not giving them any token of thanks, especially since the ambulance service didn’t charge anything,” wrote the man sharing the story. “He had no idea and had just assumed that the charges would have been paid when his wife had booked the ambulance!”
‘Add Option For Token Payment’
Given the urgency and sensitivity of the situation, Blinkit’s drivers and paramedic staff did not request any token charges from the family. The man sharing the story suggested that Blinkit could consider adding an option on the app for voluntary token payments, along with a rating system for drivers, staff, and other service providers.
“You may consider adding an option on your app for a token payment and perhaps a rating system for your ambulance crews after the job is completed. They are a lifesaver indeed,” wrote the person.
In January, marking one year since the launch of its free ambulance service, Blinkit reported having handled over 4,200 cases, saving numerous lives by providing rapid access to medical care.
