After President Donald Trump claimed Moon, the celestial body, as United States property and unveiled a new design for his Space Force uniforms on Sunday, September 6, the White House has added a superhero
twist too. They posted an AI-generated video of the US president as the DC Comics superhero Green Lantern, who has a ring powered by willpower.
The official X account of White House posted the video early in the morning on September 7, which featured Trump in a suit wearing a glowing green power ring. The post was shared with the superhero’s iconic oath: “In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil’s might beware my power… Green Lantern’s light!”
The AI-generated clip showed Trump using the ring’s energy to create a border-like wall in a desert landscape, with a group of people on the other side, seemingly depicting that he is creating a wall against immigration. The video also depicted factory buildings under the label “American Manufacturing”, along with US military ships and aircraft.
The video ended with Trump holding up the glowing ring as Kanye West’s Flashing Lights plays in the background.
Internet Reacts To The Video With Sarcasm And Frustration
As of writing, the video has garnered over 10.6 million views, with users reacting in varied ways to Trump as the superhero Green Lantern. Some criticised the White House’s decision to portray Trump as a superhero and questioned the use of AI, while others reacted with sarcasm.
“This really is the cringiest collapse of a nation in real time,” said a user.
“This sh*t is corny. Who is coming up with this crap?” asked another person.
“The White House account has officially gone from government communications to a full-time meme page,” commented an individual.

“What is this? Dude is cosplaying now? This is so embarrassing to be a citizen of this country,” mentioned another user.
Someone else said, “Trump is the most childish, unserious president in history. How embarrassing it must be to work for this joke.”
A person shared, “How about you stop spending my taxpayer dollars on copyright infringing lame ass AI memes to try to make Trump look strong and effective?
Maybe Trump should try doing something strong and effective?”
“Cool edit! Any update on bringing the evil people in the Epstein Files to justice?” asked someone.
Meanwhile, a different individual said, “Whoa… some of you need to get outside. You are taking this too seriously. Choose your battles- this is humour… calm down. We need humour.”
The post comes just hours before HBO aired the fourth episode of Lanterns, the DC series inspired by the Green Lantern story.
