England faced Norway in the third quarterfinal of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Saturday (July 11) at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and secured a 2-1 win. Jude Bellingham scored two goals for the Three Lions
to help them get the better of Norway, which defeated five-time champions Brazil in the Round of 16 earlier this week at New York New Jersey Stadium.
The two goals by Bellingham (45+2nd and 93rd minutes) against Norway helped him extend his tally to six goals in the ongoing 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup.
He also scored a brace in England’s Round of 16 match against Mexico and netted two goals (one each against Croatia and Panama) in the group stage.

The six goals each by Bellingham and Kane in this year’s FIFA World Cup helped England create history.
It is the first time in the history of the FIFA World Cup that two players from the same team have managed to score at least six goals in one edition.
In the past, on multiple occasions, two players from the same team have scored at least five goals (Brazil in 2002 and France in 2026), but never in the 96-year history of the FIFA World Cup have two teammates touched the six-goal mark.
England have scored a total of 13 goals in this year’s tournament, and 12 of those goals have been scored by the duo of Kane and Bellingham. The only other player to score for the 1966 winners in this year’s FIFA World Cup is Marcus Rashford.
Rashford came off the bench for England in their Group L opener against Croatia and scored one goal.
The six goals by Bellingham in the FIFA World Cup 2026 also helped him equal the record for the most goals scored by an England player in one edition of the FIFA World Cup.
Before him, Gary Lineker scored six goals for England in the 1986 FIFA World Cup, while Harry Kane reached the six-goal mark in the 2018 edition. The 32-year-old forward, who is leading England in the FIFA World Cup 2026, has six goals to his name in the ongoing edition as well, making him only the second player after Kylian Mbappe to score six goals in multiple editions of the FIFA World Cup.
