A toddler aged one was killed, and his grandmother was severely injured after a school bus allegedly ran them over. The incident, which took place at nearly 12:15 PM in Mumbai’s Girgaon area, was also
caught on camera.
The woman, identified as Chandrakala Shivram Vyas, had come to the bus stop to collect her granddaughter from the school bus. She was also carrying her one-year-old grandson, Avir Vyas, in her arms.
After the granddaughter got down from the bus, Chandrakala began to cross the road from the front of the vehicle. As the woman was crossing the road along with her granddaughter and grandson, the bus driver allegedly moved the vehicle forward without noticing her presence.

The bus hit both the woman and the child, knocking them down and causing serious injuries.
People nearby rushed to help after the accident. The woman and the toddler were immediately taken to Reliance Hospital in Girgaon for emergency treatment. Doctors declared the child dead on arrival.
Chandrakala Vyas remains admitted to the hospital and is undergoing treatment. Her condition is reported to be critical.
A further investigation into the case is underway.
