In November 2025, Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor suffered an injury while shooting for her upcoming film, Eetha. She was reportedly performing a folk-dance form, Lavani, and lost her balance and fractured
her left foot’s toe. Now, weeks later, she is back on the sets of Laxman Utekar’s film, and has resumed the shoot of Tamasha artiste Vithabai Narayangaonkar’s biopic, Eetha. Mid-Day reports that she resumed filming for the biopic on January 4, and the team has been shooting a dance number which sees the actress’ character performing on stage in the middle of a mela.
Shraddha Kapoor Resumes Shooting For Eetha
According to Mid-Day, the team of Eetha has been shooting at Marve Beach near Malad in Mumbai. The production design team has created a set of a village there. “Among the few sets that were built on the site in November, one reflected the interior of a house, and another, a bustling village. Laxman kept the sets standing until Shraddha healed. Now, they have resumed the shoot of a dance number that sees Shraddha’s character performing on a stage in the middle of a mela. Over 800 background artistes, who will be seen as people milling about at the mela, report to the set every day. Vaibhavi Merchant is choreographing the fast-paced number,” said a source.
Set between 1940 and 1990, Eetha traces the unusual rise of the Pandharpur-born artiste Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar in the world of Tamasha, her brush with fame, and financial distress. The team of Eetha is currently filming portions that depict Narayangaonkar in her 40s, a phase for which Shraddha has reportedly gained weight.
After this schedule is wrapped in February, Shraddha will reportedly have a 10-day break during which she will lose weight. Soon after, she will film for portions that show the protagonist in her 20s and early 30s. While the project was earlier scheduled to be wrapped up by February, the director is now aiming to finish by April.
Meanwhile, Randeep Hooda will play the male lead, anchoring the emotional core of the story alongside Shraddha’s character. He was spotted in Mumbai last night, and his moustached look sparked curiosity, with fans wondering whether his new look is for Laxman Utekar’s Eetha.
