Yash has responded to producer Allu Aravind’s much-discussed comment about his rise to nationwide fame after KGF. The Toxic star acknowledged that the 2018 blockbuster transformed his career, but argued
that an actor’s contribution cannot be separated from a film’s success.
The remark dates back to 2023, when Allu Aravind questioned Yash’s standing before KGF while making a larger point about production scale and filmmaking.
Yash Responds To Allu Aravind’s Comment
During his appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Yash was reminded of Allu Aravind’s statement and asked about the argument that a producer creates a film while an actor ultimately benefits from its success.
Yash did not dispute that KGF gave him considerably greater recognition.
“It is true. But I also believe that cinema doesn’t just belong to a producer,” he said.
The actor pointed out that filmmaking involves contributions from several departments and individuals, even though actors often receive a disproportionate share of public attention.
“So many people work in cinema, but only the actor gets credits. Be it a character artist or a writer, everyone works hard in cinema, but if an actor is not able to carry it, the film will not work,” Yash added.
‘Audience Is Never Wrong,’ Says Yash
Yash also spoke about why actors tend to receive enormous recognition when a film connects with viewers. According to him, the ability to communicate emotions and connect with audiences despite the pressures involved in performing is an important part of the equation.
“I feel audience is right, sometimes I wonder why does actor win all the love,” he said.
Yash added, “And I truly believe that audience is never wrong. They respect everyone and are aware as to who deserves to earn more respect.”
What Allu Aravind Had Said About KGF
Allu Aravind’s original comments had sparked criticism from Yash’s fans in 2023. The veteran producer had asked, “Who was Yash before the release of the KGF movie?” while arguing that the scale and richness of the production helped make the film successful.
Fans had pushed back against the remark, pointing out that Yash already had an established career in the Kannada film industry before KGF turned him into a pan-India star.
Yash Gears Up For Toxic
Yash is now preparing for the release of Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film also features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth.
Toxic is scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 26.
