Days before Alpha releases in theatres, the film has received a U/A certificate from the CBFC, and now, with the Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer all set to hit theatres, reports about the movie’s runtime,
required changes, and other details have come in. As per reports, the certificate was granted to the film on June 29, 2026.
As per NDTV, the makers have been asked to modify several scenes in the film before being granted clearance from the board. It has been reported that a long visual of 25 minutes and 49 seconds was replaced in the movie with alternate scenes.
The board also asked the makers to tone down multiple stabbing scenes in the film. This change was made at 1 hour, 36 minutes and 41 seconds.
The disclaimer of the film has been redrafted, and the board has asked the makers to add English subtitles for all the songs. Other modifications include removing a foul word at 35 minutes and 53 seconds, putting an anti-alcohol static disclaimer wherever applicable, and muting an expletive at the 35:53 mark. Despite these modifications, the CBFC records clarify that no scenes or footage were removed from the film and the approved runtime of the film is 140 minutes and 48 seconds (2 hours, 20 minutes, and 48 seconds).
