In his quest to travel India to find the best state, an Instagram influencer and travel enthusiast, Jack, lands in Karnataka and is immediately impressed by modernity and futuristic endeavours.
In the recent
video Jack Heaton posted on Instagram, he describes Bengaluru city as one which is ahead of its time and throws light on the modern lifestyle and startup culture practised in the place while appreciating the green spaces and the beautifully constructed temples. He describes the place as the one “living in the future”. He humorously also mentions the exhausting traffic in the city and describes it as utterly “diabolical”
In the video, Jack reveals that he spent two weeks in Bengaluru and was pleasantly surprised by the number of high-end dining spaces and bursting culture, and mentions how genuinely disappointed he was by the trash talk India receives, displaying how “social media has done India dirty.”
While talking about the distinct culture that is offered beyond Bengaluru in the state, he places Karnataka at the top of his personal rankings of the best states he has visited so far.

In the caption, Jack writes, “don’t get me wrong, some of the stereotypes can be true in places – not everywhere is clean or safe, etc. – but I want to balance the argument a little…, Show the positives of every state I visit whilst also still being realistic with how I felt, highlighting how often only negative arguments about India surface online.
“Onto Karnataka”, he begins, “I had no real expectations for Karnataka, but it surprised me. I found Bangalore incredibly liveable (minus the traffic), full of hardworking young people trying to do their best for themselves, whilst also still being pretty friendly. I also had a couple of friends in Bangalore, so I got more local insights & spent Holi there, so it holds a special place for me & for that reason it takes over Tamil Nadu.”
To clear up how the ranking is based on his own experiences as a traveller and not on any statistics, he mentions, “I definitely know some people won’t like the rating, but it’s based on my enjoyment & experience as a traveller – not any numerical statistics and for both states so far I’d love to come back & experience more.”
Jack’s experience resulted in several positive reactions and comments on the platform, with locals being genuinely overwhelmed at the appreciation received for the city.
One comment read, “You have spoken from your heart. That is it.” While another said, “Hell yeah, couldn’t agree with the rating more.”
