Accordingly, the reverse fixture between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, scheduled to be played on May 21, 2026, in the evening, will now be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, with the match set to begin at 07:30 PM IST.
The change has been implemented in view of the municipal corporation elections in Ahmedabad and other parts of Gujarat scheduled on April 26, 2026.
The BCCI had initially unveiled only a partial schedule – till April 12, with state elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Assam delaying the full rollout. Once the poll dates were confirmed, the complete league-stage schedule was released on March 26, just two days before the season began.
The remaining 50 league matches will be played between April 13 and May 24 across 12 venues, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Dharamshala, Raipur and New Chandigarh. The second phase features eight double-headers, with matches scheduled at 3:30 PM and 7:30 PM IST.
The playoff venues are yet to be finalised, though the IPL 2026 final is likely to be held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, following Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s title-winning campaign last season.
