Kareena Kapoor has admitted that she regrets dropping out of school to pursue acting. Kareena Kapoor made her Bollywood debut in 2000 with Refugee alongside Abhishek Bachchan. She was 19 during the film’s
shoot and turned 20 after it was released. She then decided to focus only on acting.
In a recent chat with podcaster Hanuman Dass, Kareena said, “I never finished my education, and that was something that kind of stayed with me. Even though I had the opportunity, I got into movies and didn’t study any further after Class XI. I know a lot of people can make fun of that or say whatever they want, but I wanted to prove myself as an actor. That was something I wanted to do, to follow my heart.”
“Education is something I do regret not completing. That’s why I have pushed my boys to finish their education first and then follow their hearts. When UNICEF approached me about supporting young girls’ education in India, I felt deeply about it because I had always carried that regret that I hadn’t completed my own education,” she said.

Before she became an actress, Kareena studied at Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and later attended Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun. She is said to have briefly studied commerce at Mumbai’s Mithibai College. However, she never completed her degree.
She also attended a three-month summer course in microcomputers at Harvard Summer School. Previously, Kareena had revealed that she thought of becoming a lawyer before she started acting. Today, Kareena is among the most popular actresses in the industry.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kareena was last seen in Singham Again and Crew in 2024. Now, Kareena Kapoor and Prithviraj Sukumaran are coming together for Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra, a film that deals with crime and the judicial system while drawing from several cases across India.
The film will be out in theatres on September 18. The film marks Kareena and Prithviraj’s first on-screen collaboration. The film’s recently released trailer has impressed fans, and they cannot wait to watch the film.
