Tight Security For Final Journey
According to Mumbai Police, over 1,000 personnel, including senior officers, have been deployed to manage traffic and maintain law and order during the funeral procession. The Mumbai Traffic Police have also introduced route diversions and restrictions to accommodate both the procession and the large crowds expected to gather.

The measures are aimed at ensuring a seamless passage for the cortege while allowing mourners to pay their last respects without disruption.
Final Rites With State Honours
Asha Bhosle’s mortal remains are being taken to Shivaji Park, where her last rites will be conducted with full state honours at 4 pm. The cremation will take place at the Late Bhagoji Baluji Keer Hindu Shamshan Bhoomi.
In a poignant visual, the vehicle carrying her mortal remains has been adorned with white flowers, symbolising a final tribute to a life that defined Indian music for decades.
Public Homage And Dignitaries Pay Respect
Before the final journey, Asha Bhosle’s mortal remains were kept at her Lower Parel residence between 11 am and 3 pm for public homage. A steady stream of fans, admirers, and prominent personalities gathered to pay their respects.
Among those present were Uddhav Thackeray along with family members, Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, actor Riteish Deshmukh and music composer A. R. Rahman, among others.
Nation Mourns A Musical Legend
Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday at the age of 92 due to multiple organ failure. She had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on April 11 following a chest infection.
Her passing has left the nation in mourning, with tributes pouring in from across the country. As Mumbai gathers to say its final goodbye, the scale of arrangements reflects not just the stature of the artist, but the deep emotional connection she shared with millions through her voice.
