India will face the Netherlands in their fourth and final Group A match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 on Wednesday (February 18). The Indian team has won all three matches played so far with 6 points,
Suryakumar Yadav’s men take the No. 1 position in the points table. India have already qualified for the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup 2026, but they would like to maintain their perfect win record on Wednesday as well.
Suryakumar Yadav’s men will be hoping to dominate their associate rivals and continue their great form into the Super 8s stage, where they will face South Africa first up on Sunday, February 22.
Without really playing their best game as a collective unit, the Men in Blue have been incredibly tough to beat for each of their opponents in the tournament so far. After overcoming a scare from the USA in Mumbai, Team India hammered Namibia in Delhi. Suryakumar & company then took on arch-rivals Pakistan on the neutral turf in Sri Lanka and managed to stamp their authority with a 61-run victory.
Yet another win against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup history sealed India’s berth for the Super 8s stage, which also gives them an opportunity to try and rest a few of their key players before bringing them back for the Proteas clash. The team management and coach Gautam Gambhir may consider giving ace speedster Jasprit Bumrah and mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy a breather and select two of Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar.
Playing Washington would be enticing, as he recently returned from injury and allows India to retain a three-pronged spin attack in the brief absence of Chakravarthy. He also lends greater depth to the batting department, allowing the rest of the pack to bat even more freely. Something the likes of Tilak Varma needs to do after stuttering along to a 24-ball 25 on a dry surface in Colombo. India will also hope that opener Abhishek Sharma returns to his best.
