Archana Puran Singh has revealed that she has started experiencing hearing a “little less from my right ear.” The reason? She says it’s Navjot Singh Sidhu’s booming laughter. Speaking at a college festival
to promote The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 4, she explained that “Sidhu needs a pause” for the laughter button and for so long that it continues “even after the joke is over.” She added that while many believe her laughter is loud, Sidhu’s laughter surpasses hers by far.
Roasting comes with respect
The veteran actress also addressed the long-standing question about why she allows younger comedians to roast her on national television. She explained that the interactions are not insulting, but a form of roast where mutual consent and admiration exist. “In a roast, both participants are willing to do it. There is so much mutual respect and admiration in our whole team,” she said, emphasizing the trust and warmth within the group.
A bond built on trust
Archana further revealed that she has no worries about being disrespected on the show, as the comedians know the boundaries. She said, “I love Kapil, Sunil, Krushna, and Kiku so much that whatever they say, I can never feel bad. They just say those things so sweetly.”
Lighthearted moments
Krushna Abhishek added a playful note by mentioning that Archana also earns a “huge pay cheque” for her appearances. Kiku Sharda shared that his mother sometimes calls him, concerned about his jokes at Archana’s expense. The actress reassured everyone that the humor was always friendly and based on affection.
Proud parent off screen
Away from the comedy stage, Archana and her husband Parmeet Sethi shared a proud parent moments with their son Aaryamann, who flew first class to London with his fiancée Yogita Bihani. Archana and Parmeet traveled in business class while documenting the journey on their YouTube channel, AAAP Ka Parivaar. “Humne bahut kiya hai. Ab teri baari hai,” Parmeet said, expressing pride in his son’s achievement, while Archana joked that despite the upgrade, he was “sirf ek kadam aage” of them.
