New Delhi, Aug 19 (PTI) Light rain swept parts of Delhi on Wednesday, offering residents a brief respite from the prevailing humid conditions as the weather department issued a ‘yellow’ alert for isolated
rainfall in the national capital.
Light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is very likely at isolated places in the city, according to the weather department.
Several areas, including Paschim Vihar, Punjabi Bagh, Kashmere Gate, Seelampur, Shahdara, Vivek Vihar, Rajouri Garden, Patel Nagar, Red Fort, Preet Vihar, Buddha Jayanti Park, President House, Rajiv Chowk, ITO, Delhi Cantonment, India Gate and Akshardham, are likely to receive light rain and thunderstorms.
The showers brought temporary relief to residents, with cloudy skies prevailing across several parts of the national capital.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast generally cloudy skies, with moderate rain and thunderstorms at isolated places in Delhi.
