The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court in the case related to Jana Nayagan, mentioning that no orders shall be passed in the case until CBFC is heard.
The
move came ahead of the anticipation of the makers moving top court over the Madras High Court Division Bench order that stayed a single judge’s direction to grant the film a UA certificate.
The producers, KVN Productions, approached the top court following the Madras High Court’s interim decision to halt the implementation of its earlier single judge order that had instructed the CBFC to issue a UA certificate.
Release Of Jana Nayagan Postponed
Jana Nayagan was supposed to hit theatres on January 9 but was then postponed due to certification issues.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share this update with our valued stakeholders and audiences. The release of Jana Nayagan, eagerly awaited on January 9, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances beyond our control,” the makers announced earlier this month.
“We deeply understand the anticipation, excitement, and emotions surrounding this film, and this decision has not been an easy one for any of us. The new release date will be announced at the earliest. Until then, we humbly request your patience and continued love. Your unwavering support is our greatest strength and means everything to the entire Jana Nayagan team,” the statement added.
As of now, no official confirmation regarding a revised release date for Jana Nayagan has been announced. Despite multiple rounds of discussions, the makers are still awaiting clearance.
Directed by H Vinoth, the film features Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju in pivotal roles alongside Vijay.
