marks her first on-screen collaboration with Allu Arjun. Ever since the project was announced, it has generated significant buzz, with fans particularly excited to see Deepika take on a high-octane action role. The latest report suggests that the actress, who is in her third trimester, has been shooting intense action scenes almost every day.
According to Variety India, Deepika Padukone has reportedly been filming extensively for Raaka, with her shooting almost every day to complete her portions on time. Despite the recent debate around her support for a structured eight-hour work shift, the actress has remained dedicated to the project and is working towards wrapping up the film before taking maternity leave. Now seven months pregnant, she has reportedly been filming night schedules and performing physically demanding action sequences, balancing the film’s demanding shoot while preparing to welcome her second child.
A crew member told the portal, “It is inspiring for everyone on the sets to see Deepika perform like this. Not to forget, she has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter at home, who she also gets her unwavering attention.”
The 8-hour work shift debate started after reports claimed that Deepika had exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2 over disagreements regarding her work schedule. It soon sparked a wider conversation in the film industry about working hours, especially for new mothers.
Atlee’s Raaka is touted to be one of Indian cinema’s biggest upcoming spectacles. Starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, the film reportedly also features Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in key roles. It explores a world of science fiction and fantasy, backed by large-scale action and an ambitious vision that has already generated immense buzz ahead of its 2027 release.
Meanwhile, Deepika also has Siddharth Anand’s King alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The much-awaited film also features Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Raghav Juyal, Abhay Verma, Saurabh Shukla, and Rani Mukerji in key roles. It is set to hit theatres on December 24, 2026.
