Jailer 2 is a Tamil-language action-comedy written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. Serving as a sequel to 2023’s Jailer, the film brings back Rajinikanth in the titular role. Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Mirnaa are reprising their roles, while S. J. Suryah joins the cast in a new role.
The film also features cameo appearances by Shiva Rajkumar, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Mithun Chakraborty, with Shiva reprising his earlier role. Following the release of the original film, Jailer 2 is scheduled to hit theatres on June 12, 2026.
Rajinikanth has previously appeared in two of Mithun Chakraborty’s films, Bhrastachar (1989) in Hindi and Bhagya Devta (1997) in Bengali, making this collaboration a notable reunion for fans. The superstar was last seen on screen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie.
