A disagreement between two groups about boarding the Banaras-Lucknow Intercity Express escalated into a violent clash in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi. A passenger recorded the entire episode, and the video is now gaining
significant attention on social media.
The 19-second clip shows passengers on board panicking as some get accidentally hit during the tussle. A woman can be heard saying, “hum logo ko kaahe maar rahe ho? (why are you hitting us)”.
According to reports, the altercation began around 8:30 am on Wednesday morning.

Viral Video Captures the Chaos
The viral video shows young men engaged in kicking and punching each other while nearby passengers look on in fear. The conflict reportedly started over boarding the train and seat availability, which quickly escalated into physical violence.
The Intercity Express was still at the Amethi railway station when the incident unfolded, raising serious concerns about passenger safety. Passengers attribute such incidents to inadequate security arrangements both on the train and at the station.
Authorities Respond to Viral Video
Farid Khan, the GRP outpost in-charge at Amethi Railway Station, mentioned that information about the fight was received after the video was posted on social media.
Superintendent of Police of Government Railway Police posted on X that the GRP Police Station in Pratapgarh is identifying the individuals involved in the assault based on the video. “Necessary action will be taken based on the written complaint,” he added.
