A pilot’s last flight before retirement became a truly emotional moment after spending 23 years in service. It was made even more memorable by the presence of his family on the flight and his daughter
voicing out the event of the day. A video posted by pilot Om has gone popular on social media, recording his final operational flight before retiring. The clip, narrated by his daughter, provides a glimpse into a profession that began as a dream and evolved into a lifelong commitment to aviation.
The clip begins with Om receiving blessings from his mother before departing for duty. “Finally the day has come,” his daughter says in the background, reminiscing on the 23-year journey that began when he first started flying. Om reflects on how it took him two years of training before he was able to fly for Air India Express, where he spent over 20 years. “I’m thankful to the Air India Express for giving me this opportunity,” adds the pilot.

Pilot’s Makes An Emotional Speech
Colleagues greeted him at the airport with flowers and cakes, paying respect to a pilot. Om delivered a meaningful announcement speech to everybody onboard. “Today’s flight is the most special for me,” he remarked, noting that his wife and daughter were accompanying him for the first time and that it was also his last flight before retirement. He reassured the cabin, “Don’t worry, you’re in good hands. I have 23 years of experience.”
As the flight came to an end, Om reflected on his career, which had taken him from first officer to captain, check pilot, instructor and examiner. “I suppose I’ve done everything. I’m pretty happy,” he added, noting that he’d trained thousands of pilots and held leadership positions.
Pilot’s Last Flight Comes To An End
The emotional high point was when Om kissed his plane farewell. In the caption, he paid respect to his late father and a lifelong inspiration. He wrote, “I am deeply grateful to everyone who made this journey possible. Above all, I thank my late father who was the greatest pilot and the finest human being I’ve ever known, and my lifelong inspiration” The video left users gushing and calling it an extremely emotional moment.
