Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Rawal are coming together for a project, and the report is already creating curiosity. The two are set to headline a new romantic thriller, tentatively titled Sundar Poonam. The film
will be directed by Pulkit, known for projects like Bhakshak and Maalik.
While the makers have kept the plot details tightly under wraps, sources suggest that the story is inspired by true events and will present both actors in roles very different from their previous work.
As reported by Variety, the project is expected to go on floors in mid-April. It is being planned on a large scale, with shooting schedules spread across multiple locations, including Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi and Mumbai. The film is being backed by Abundantia Entertainment, led by producer Vikram Malhotra. Both the director and producer are yet to make any official confirmation for the same.
For Aditya Rawal, this film continues his ongoing collaboration with the production house. Sundar Poonam will mark his third consecutive project with Abundantia Entertainment after his performances in Daldal and Subedaar. According to sources, he will be seen playing a “wild” character in the film and has already begun preparing for the role.
What’s Next For Sanya Malhotra
Sanya Malhotra, on the other hand, reunites with the banner after her earlier association with Shakuntala Devi, which starred Vidya Balan in the lead. The actress also has a busy slate ahead, with projects like Bandar by Anurag Kashyap lined up for release this year. Besides, Sanya also has the film Toaster alongside Rajkummar Rao. Directed by Vivek Das Chaudhary, the film also stars Archana Puran Singh, Upendra Limaye, Farah Khan, Abhishek Banerjee and others.
Production House’s Slate Ahead
Meanwhile, Abundantia Entertainment is also expanding its content slate. The banner has two upcoming projects for Netflix. One of them is Family Business starring Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma, and the other one is titled Maa Behen featuring Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri.
In addition, the production house is working on an ambitious AI-based feature film titled Chiranjeevi Hanuman: The Eternal, which is currently slated for a theatrical release in 2027.
Sanya Malhotra was last seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which is available for streaming on Netflix. On the other hand, Aditya’s last big screen appearance was in Subedaar where Anil Kapoor takes on the role of the protagonist.
