Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome from members of the Indian diaspora upon his arrival at the hotel in Paris. People gathered outside the hotel waving Indian flags and chanting slogans
as they greeted the Prime Minister.
The prime minister is in France as part of his three-nation visit. During his stay in the French capital, the prime minister is scheduled to hold bilateral engagements, attend the VivaTech Summit 2026, and interact with members of the Indian community at a special programme.

VivaTech is regarded as Europe’s largest technology and startup event, bringing together global leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators. India is participating as the AI partner country this year.
At the summit, PM Modi is expected to showcase India’s fast growing innovation ecosystem, digital public infrastructure and strides in emerging technologies. India will also feature the largest national pavilion at this year’s edition of VivaTech, underlining the immense potential for collaboration between Indian and European innovators.
PM Modi’s engagements in Paris will also include an interaction with members of the Indian diaspora at a special community event.
According to Akashvani’s correspondent in Paris, the visit is designed to deepen economic and technological ties between India and France. PM Modi is expected to lead a roundtable discussion with prominent French and European business leaders to explore new investment opportunities in India’s expanding manufacturing and technology sectors.
Later in the day, PM Modi and President Macron will take part in a series of high level engagements at VivaTech, culminating in a keynote session expected to highlight India’s growing role as a global centre for innovation and digital transformation.
The visit will conclude with a large diaspora reception featuring cultural performances celebrating India’s rich and diverse heritage.
PM Modi arrived in Paris after concluding his engagements at the G7 Summit, where he articulated India’s priorities on global governance, trade and sustainable development. In a social media post, PM Modi emphasised the importance of closer cooperation with countries of the Global South to advance shared prosperity and inclusive growth.
During the G7 outreach session, PM Modi proposed greater collaboration among G7 nations, India and developing economies to strengthen connectivity and enhance trade. He also drew attention to the adverse impact of the West Asia conflict on developing countries.
