A UK restaurant owner is enjoying unexpected viral fame after sharing a delivery note that was never meant for public eyes. What was supposed to be a discreet message for a food delivery driver has now
travelled far beyond its intended destination, sparking laughs across social media.
Waseem Banaras, who runs the takeaway joint Munchies Eston, stumbled upon the note while processing an order and couldn’t resist reacting to its honesty.
Hilarious Delivery Note Goes Viral
Printed neatly on the receipt was a request that summed up a very relatable struggle: “Knock quietly, I’m supposed to be on a diet.” The order itself made the message even funnier. The customer had gone all in, requesting a Texas BBQ personal pizza, a waffle topped with double chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce, and a can of Dr Pepper. The post, first shared back in 2024, has resurfaced and is once again doing the rounds online, earning a fresh wave of reactions.
Banaras later confirmed that the delivery driver took the note seriously and respected the customer’s wish for secrecy. “The delivery driver definitely did follow the request,” he said as per The NY Post. He added, “We couldn’t possibly betray the customer’s trust.”
Still amused by the moment, Banaras decided the receipt deserved a wider audience. He snapped a photo and shared it online, adding a playful caption that read, “Your secret is safe with us…” The post quickly struck a chord with people who saw a bit of themselves in the message.
Banaras Kept Things Simple
Explaining why he shared it, Banaras kept things simple. “I found it hilarious,” he said. “It felt like something we would all do!” That mix of humour and honesty seems to be exactly why the post connected so widely. As the image gained traction, Munchies Eston’s Instagram page leaned into the moment, reposting the receipt multiple times. One caption summed up the unexpected attention perfectly, “Didn’t expect this!”
What began as a private plea for a quiet knock has now turned into a global inside joke about diets, late-night cravings and the small confessions people make to strangers.
