Anurag Kashyap On Casting New Actors

I discovered it in them. I spoke with their families and informed them, ‘I will need time to make this.'”
The actors were from Mumbai, and he told them they needed to transform themselves. He said, “Kanpuriya banna padega aur nahin banne; toh nahin banegi film. They have worked hard. They gave me four years, and then we started filming.” When he returned to them after making Kennedy, he noticed they were completely in character.
Anurag Kashyap On Following A Formula In Filmmaking

I avoid formulas and people that bring me down.”
