Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, is gearing up for her big screen debut in King. Recently, she indulged in an interesting conversation where she got candid about who she is as a person and how she discovered
her passion for acting.
When asked to describe herself, Suhana Khan told Harper’s Bazaar India, “A homebody who loves being busy.” She said that she is both an introvert and an extrovert. Suhana added, “Why are we all focusing on what we look like? There are other important things. Like I’d rather be compassionate, kind, interesting, and fun, and make someone else feel good in my presence than obsess over looks.”
Despite being a star kid, Suhana prefers to stay private. She described herself as a deeply sensitive person, and she is proud of her vulnerability. Suhana Khan said, “I try to be a better person every day. I think I’m a kind person and I really take pride in that.” Interestingly, many Bollywood stars have spoken highly of Shah Rukh Khan’s kindness.
In the same chat, Suhana Khan recalled how she discovered her passion for acting in boarding school. While she grew up with an interest in cinema, boarding school stands out as a distinct memory. She revealed that she once auditioned for a play but got cast in the chorus instead. “I was so upset and disappointed. And I think that’s when I knew that I really wanted to play those parts and enjoy the thrill of being on stage,” Suhana recalled.
Meanwhile, Suhana Khan is currently gearing up for her next film with her father, Shah Rukh Khan, in King. The action drama, whose teaser was released in 2025, is one of the most-highly awaited films. According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, King is being mounted on an unprecedented budget of ₹350 crore, positioning it among the costliest action films ever produced in India.
Initial reports suggest that when the project was first conceptualised with Suhana Khan in the lead and Sujoy Ghosh as director, the budget was set at around ₹150 crore. However, as the story evolved and Shah Rukh Khan decided to take centre stage, the team realised the potential to mount the film on a much larger canvas.
It was then that Siddharth Anand came on board as director, bringing his flair for scale and adrenaline-fueled storytelling. With his involvement, King transformed into one of the most ambitious ventures ever undertaken by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.
Adding to its grandeur, King features a stellar ensemble cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, Saurabh Shukla, Abhay Verma, Karanvir Malhotra, and Suhana Khan. The film, currently in production, is slated for a grand release in 2026.
