Sai Pallavi has reportedly been roped in to portray legendary classical singer and Bharat Ratna awardee M.S. Subbulakshmi in an upcoming biopic. While an official announcement is yet to be made by the
makers, strong industry buzz suggests that the actress has been approached to headline the project.
According to 123 Telugu, Sai Pallavi has been roped in to play the lead role of MS Subbalakshmi in her biopic. Well, nothing has been made official but the news has surely left fans super excited. It is worthy to mention here that M.S. Subbulakshmi, fondly remembered as MS Amma, remains one of most revered musical figures. Known for her deep devotion to classical music, she became the first musician to receive the Bharat Ratna.
Sai Pallavi In Kalki 2 After Deepika Padukone Exit
With anticipation for the sequel building, fresh rumour suggests a key role may see a new face, even as the makers remain tight-lipped. Sources close to the film have now confirmed to Hindustan Times that Sai Pallavi is being considered for an important part in the sequel, following Deepika Padukone’s exit from the project. While nothing has been officially announced, the development has renewed interest in what lies ahead for the ambitious sci-fi universe created by director Nag Ashwin. A representative associated with the film told HT that discussions are still at a preliminary stage. “Nothing has been finalised yet. But yes, the makers are looking at Sai to play SUM-80 after Deepika’s exit. They think she’ll be a perfect fit for the role,” the source said.
In the first film, Deepika played SUM-80, also called Sumati, a pregnant test subject in Project K and the prophesied mother of Kalki. Her character was central to the story. In the Telugu version, the role was dubbed by Sobhita Dhulipala. After escaping from Supreme Yaskin’s lab, SUM-80 is protected by Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Ashwatthama.
Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the sequel is expected to continue exploring these storylines, making the casting of SUM-80 a crucial decision. With Sai Pallavi now reportedly in the mix, fans are eager to see how the role may evolve, should the casting be confirmed.
