Kriti Sanon On Wanting To Play Rekha In Her Biopic
In an interview with GQ India, Kriti Sanon was asked whose biopic she would love to star in. She replied, “Rekha. She’s the ultimate baddie. I know I look nothing like her, but I love her. Her heart, her guts, her aura. She’s warm, intelligent, and has lived life on her own terms.”
Meanwhile, in the same interview, Kriti also opened up about the ups and downs she faced in her acting journey. She recalled going through phases of frustration and wanting to do better roles before starring in ‘Mimi’. “There were roles I came very close to that eventually went to star kids, something that was beyond my control. When you don’t come from a film background, there’s a great amount of uncertainty you have to deal with. It has been a process of gradual growth, with me taking risks and making more intentional choices. I have earned every opportunity; nothing has been handed to me,” she said.
She also revealed making mistakes, and doing films because they seemed significant, despite knowing they didn’t offer much for her as an actor. “There was a phase where nothing was working, and it felt confusing. However, I am grateful for that period, because it gave me clarity on what I do not want to pursue. Failures teach you far more than success does,” she said.
On the work front, she is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Cocktail 2, alongside Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The film is set to release on June 19.
