A shocking footage of a verbal spat between a cab driver and a woman passenger has drawn widespread attention on social media. It shows a disagreement over a payment of Rs 250.
In the clip, the driver also
alleges that she smoked inside the cab, stopped the vehicle midway to buy alcohol and made him wait for nearly half an hour. The video was recorded by the cab driver himself after the ride had ended.
Woman Refuses To Pay Cab Fare To Driver
The clip opens with the cab driver asking the woman to pay the fare. She refuses and begins to walk away, saying, “Abe chal (Get lost).” The driver follows and asks again, “Paisa kaun dega? (Who will pay the money?).”
She again uses coarse language and says, “Chal hatt (Move away)” and continues to walk ahead.
The driver, still trailing her, says, “Ye kya tarika hai? Paisa nikalo, pyaar se bol raha hu (What kind of behaviour is this? Take out the money, I’m asking you politely).” His tone remains controlled at this stage.
Man Tries To Intervene
In the clip, a man nearby attempts to calm the situation. He speaks to the woman and tries to reason with her but she refuses to engage and says, “Mere ko sunna hi nahi hai (I don’t want to listen at all).”
The cab driver continues to ask for the fare, saying, “Suno, izzat se bol raha hu tumko, paisa dekar jao (Listen, I’m speaking to you respectfully, pay the money and go).” The woman then threatens to call the police.
At this point, the driver loses his patience and raises several complaints, saying, “Gaadi mein smoke kar rahi hai. Raste mein ruka ke daru le li hai. Adhe ghanta se wait karaya, c****** hai kya idhar? (She was smoking inside the car. She stopped on the way to buy alcohol. She made me wait for half an hour. Am I a fool here?).”
The woman responds angrily with, “Abe bewde ruk tu? (Hey drunkard, you stop),” to which the driver replies, “Gaali de kar baat nahi kar raha hu, izzat de kar baat kar rahu hu. Respect de raha hu, mera paisa do aur niklo yaha se (I’m not abusing you, I’m speaking with respect. I’m giving you respect, give me my money and leave).”
Fare Amount
The intervening man again urges the woman to pay, saying, “Paisa do na (Just give the money).” She responds, “Aree, kyu du paisa?” (Why should I give money?).” She then says she is calling someone from her house.
When asked how much the fare is, the driver replies that it is Rs 250. At one point, a man on a bike stops nearby and the woman walks towards him. Addressing the first bystander, the driver says, “Aap nahi samajh paye toh unko samjha rahi hai (You couldn’t understand so she is explaining it to him).” The video ends abruptly after this moment.

How Social Media Reacted
As the clip spread, it sparked intense discussion on social media with users reacting to the conduct of the woman seen in the clip
One user commented, “This is no joke; it’s outright rudeness. The cab driver is asking for the money he’s earned through his hard work, and in response, he’s being met with insolence—this behavior is neither right nor acceptable. Just because something goes viral doesn’t make it right, and respect is everyone’s due right.”
Another said, “Deplorable. The only way to stop such cheating is to make cab rides prepaid. That’s not difficult, as pickup and drop-off point details have to be given at the time of booking.”
“There is video evidence; take immediate action against that woman. If someone—what if the driver had behaved rudely with her—how would the situation have turned out then?” someone else suggested.
“So many videos like this are now available to watch every day. Cab drivers should boycott girls,” a person wrote.
Earlier Fare Dispute Case In Delhi
A similar incident was reported in September in Delhi where a woman allegedly refused to pay Rs 300 to an Uber driver, citing a delay in reaching her destination. The episode had also sparked online discussion with several viewers questioning how driver could be held responsible for traffic congestion.
