Ruturaj Gaikwad is playing for Maharashtra in their third match of the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament in Tamil Nadu, and on Tuesday (August 26), the 27-year-old right-handed batter scored a century.
He came out to bat at No. 3 in the first innings of the match taking place at TI Murugappa against Himachal Pradesh and crossed the 100-run mark in 122 balls. At the end of 63 overs in Maharashtra’s innings, he was batting on 104 runs from 131 balls and had hammered 10 fours so far.
Ruturaj, who has played six ODIs and 23 T20Is for India, played in the first match of the Buchi Babu Tournament as well, but he was only able to score 1 and 11 runs against Chhattisgarh.

On Tuesday, Gaikwad added 220 runs in 269 balls for the second wicket with Arshin Kulkarni. Like Gaikwad, Kulkarni also scored a century on Tuesday. The right-handed batter faced 190 balls and, with the help of 16 fours and 1 six, scored 146 runs.
Ruturaj, who missed the majority of the IPL 2025 season for Chennai Super Kings due to injury, last played for India on July 13, 2024, against Zimbabwe in Harare. In that fixture, he didn’t get a chance to bat.
Sarfaraz batting on 92
In another match of the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, Sarfaraz Khan maintained his red-hot form with the bat, and he was batting on 92 runs from 92 balls at the end of 62 overs of Mumbai’s first innings of the ongoing match against Haryana. The right-handed middle-order batter has hammered 8 fours and 4 sixes so far.
In his last match of the Buchi Babu Tournament as well, Sarfaraz scored a century.
Sarfaraz’s younger brother Musheer Khan was also in action on Tuesday but he could only manage to score 30 runs from 66 balls.
Sarfaraz will be next seen in action for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy 2025. The 2025 edition of Duleep Trophy will start on Thursday, August 28 in Bengaluru.
