The controversy over alleged exam paper leaks in Punjab has reached the national capital, with the BJP staging a protest outside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) headquarters and demanding accountability as well
as a thorough investigation into the matter.
A heavy police presence was deployed outside the AAP office during the demonstration. The protest comes months after the AAP, which had strongly criticised the Centre over the NEET paper leak and backed protesters at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, now faces similar allegations in Punjab.
BJP leaders claimed that several examination papers have been leaked during the tenure of the Bhagwant Mann-led government. Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, accompanied by party MPs and senior leaders, led the protest and accused the Punjab government of jeopardising the future of students. Protesters also raised slogans against the ruling AAP government in the state.

Punjab BJP chief Kewal Singh Dhillon earlier alleged that the state government had failed to tackle the issue and called for the resignation of the health and education ministers.
“I have said before also that they are liars. They say one thing and do another. Everyone knows that the paper has been leaked. The state’s health minister and education minister should immediately resign,” Dhillon said.
The issue has also resonated in Parliament. On Tuesday, BJP MPs staged a protest within the Parliament complex, demanding the resignation of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains over the alleged leaks.
Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal joined the attack on the AAP and called for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into 11 alleged examination scams that she claimed occurred during the party’s rule in Punjab.
The Akali Dal has alleged that six examinations, including the Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test, the Class 12 English paper and the pharmacy officer recruitment test, were compromised, affecting lakhs of candidates.
The Congress, meanwhile, alleged on Monday that at least four paper leaks had taken place under the AAP government in Punjab. The Bhagwant Mann administration has rejected all the accusations.
