Most flights begin the same way: fasten your seatbelt, note the exits and prepare for take-off. But on this IndiGo flight, passengers got something else too – a dad, a pilot and a Gen Alpha mic drop at 36,000
feet. The routine announcement turned into a moment the Internet can’t stop replaying after the pilot’s sweet move for his daughter and her classmates.
IndiGo pilot’s daughter, along with her classmates was travelling in the same flight and he decided to surprise her with a playful public announcement that sounded less like a cockpit briefing and more like a scene from a film. Using the aircraft’s announcement system, the pilot addressed his daughter and her classmates.
He started with, “I’m going to quickly attempt a Gen Alpha speech for all my Gen Alpha sixth graders, and let’s see how it goes.” And, the cabin was hooked. He continued, “Okay. So, hi awesome passengers. This is your captain. Today’s flight is extra special, as I told you, my daughter is on board. I’m sliding in with a quick vibe check.”
Laughter filled the aircraft as the captain went all in on the joke. His relaxed, playful energy, mixing classic dad humour with Gen Alpha slang was just too funny to miss.
Keeping the moment alive, he went on, “We are all about to eat this plane down the runway and head up into the sky. No cap. So, grab your snacks, chill in your seats, and vibe out. We’ll be cruising at about 36,000 ft. My crew will make sure it’s all good vibes up here.”
By then, even the adults were smiling. The pilot kept the momentum going and gave the view of the flight like an aesthetic Instagram moment in the making. He said, “Don’t forget to peek out the window, you might see some pretty lit views. The flight’s going to be straight fire as we roll down the 67 into the highway.”
Gen Alpha Coded Safety Reminder
Then he came in with the safety reminder which aligned well with the Gen Alpha vibe. In his words, “Okay, we’re hoping for smooth skies, but if it gets bumpy like an obby in Roblox, then make sure your seat belts are tight.” Of course, no dad moment is complete without boundaries. Still in character, the father added a gentle warning: “And whatever you do, do not make my ladies in blue part of your prank missions, okay?”
‘Dad’s Flying The Plane’
The announcement ended on a sweet, personal note. “And Karam, please behave. Your dad’s flying the plane, so, yeah,” he concluded.
The clip immediately grabbed the Internet’s attention, with users calling it the “coolest dad moment” and praising how effortlessly Singh blended professionalism, humour and love. “The coolest Gen Alpha dad,” wrote a user in the comments and we couldn’t agree more.
