The White House is reportedly considering extending an invitation to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to join President Donald Trump in Alaska, where Trump is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir
Putin on August 15, according to NBC News.
The report cited a senior US official and three individuals familiar with the internal deliberations. “It’s under discussion,” one of the sources reportedly said.
The report noted that Zelenskyy’s visit is not final yet, and it also remains unclear if the Ukrainian president will be in Alaska for meetings.
President Donald Trump is open to holding a trilateral summit in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a White House official said on Saturday.
However, the White House is currently planning a bilateral meeting with Putin at his request, the official added.
