Vinod Khosla, an Entrepreneur and investor, has straightforwardly said that AI will remove almost 80 per cent of jobs in the next five years, impacting millions of lives. While speaking in Nikhil Kamath’s
podcast WTF, Khosla said AI could take over as many as 80 per cent of existing jobs.
However, Khosla also remained optimistic over AI, saying it would create opportunities in ways that are hard to imagine today.
When asked by Nikhil Kamath whether students should specialise or diversify, Khosla responded without hesitation: “Be a generalist.” He explained that AI will outperform humans in narrow, specialised tasks, but the ability to think broadly, stay curious, and adapt will become the most valuable career traits in the decade ahead.
In a world where AI will increasingly handle execution, Khosla believes the real edge will lie in daring, visionary thinking.
For aspiring entrepreneurs navigating today’s wave of disruption, Vinod Khosla offered candid advice: “Pick a problem worth solving.”
In a podcast last month, Vinod Khosla reiterated his bold predictions about the future of work. Citing the same figures, he said, “Within the next five years, AI will be able to do 80% of any economically valuable job that humans can do,” according to the report. He further noted, as quoted by Fortune, that by 2040, “the need to work will go away—people will work on things because they want to, not because they need to pay their mortgage.”
