Dhurandhar actress Ayesha Khan, who recently spoke about the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar by the Cockroach Janta Party and other youngsters, has taken to her Instagram to reveal that she has been detained
by the Mumbai Police on July 22 for simply standing on the road.
Ayesha Khan shared a video of herself from a police van, saying, “My hands are shivering right now. I have been detained in a police van for just standing on the road peacefully. I didn’t say a word. I didn’t even start the protest. I was just standing because my brother and my male friends were detained.”
Ayesha then panned the camera and showed how many people had been detained by the Mumbai Police and shared, “Everyone is in the van with no explanation. Koi answer nahi hai kisike pass. Mene toh kuch bola hi nahi. I was just standing on the road and I was pulled and pushed by 4 to 5 women, left, right, centre, just for standing on the road.”
In another story, she shared pictures of police officers and wrote, “Been detained for standing peacefully on the road. #AccountabilityWhere?”
In another video story, someone in the background (most likely Ayesha) is heard asking the cops where they are taking all the detainees, but the police chose to avoid answering. While sharing the post, Ayesha wrote, “No answers!! God knows where are we going?”
Another video shows multiple police officers pushing Ayesha inside the police van as she continues to resist. Meanwhile, in another story sharing the video from a different angle, Ayesha wrote, “Unfortunately, it took 4 police women to pull me in. But I ask the same question again, why? Did I make a noise? Did I even start a conversation? Detained me for what? For standing on the road? Wasn’t even in the group of 5!”
CJP protest in Delhi
Earlier, Ayesha sought help from famous paparazzi accounts and media pages to give more coverage to the ongoing CJP protest in Delhi.
Sharing Omi Vaidya’s post, Ayesha wrote, “I request the paps and the media to highlight this news; only you can make people aware of what’s happening in the country. It’s so unfortunate that I had no idea about this too. We are so lost in glamour, beauty, and controversies that we often end up being avoidant of the things that actually need our attention.”
