The paparazzi and Bollywood have been supporting each other; the two are very important to one another. While paparazzi need celebrities for social media engagement, actors want them to get coverage. Bollywood’s
one of the most popular paparazzo, Varinder Chawla, who has around 7.2 million followers on Instagram, recently opened up about how Ranveer Singh once went out of his way to help him connect with ICC Chairman Jay Shah.
Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, when asked if he ever faced any legal trouble while running a paparazzi page, Varinder shared, “Yes, it happens a lot. I got stuck badly once; my page was suspended for three days. The pages are big, touchwood, there is a good audience, so we come into everyone’s eyes quickly. There was a match… I think when we won the World Cup. The entire nation was celebrating at that time.”
He further continued, “My team also took two to three videos of the crowd celebrating and posted them. I remember the atmosphere at that time; Anant sir’s wedding was also happening. I got an Instagram strike for three days, saying that your page has been blocked for three days. When I went to check my mail, I got to know that the strike was done by ICC.”
Recalling how he felt helpless, he recounted how his page remained frozen and was unblocked after three days, but as the strikes were still there, Meta had told him that, “If you get another strike, your page will be suspended forever.” He further continued and shared how Ranveer Singh helped him during those tough times and said, “I have never asked anything from anyone, touchwood. But on that day, I requested someone to help me, and that person was Ranveer Singh. He said, ‘Don’t worry, I will do as much as I can.’ He helped; his team helped me.”
Varinder shared thatRanveer’s team helped him get in touch with Jay Shah, and finally, the chairman of the board of directors of the ICC’s team fixed the issue. “Ranveer Singh, then Jay Shah… despite being such big people, they helped me,” Varinder concluded.
