Kanpur MLA Mahesh Trivedi’s vehicles have been reportedly caught on camera violating traffic rules. Months after his ‘10 per cent’ remarks, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has grabbed attention
for allegedly not following traffic rules. A video circulating on social media shows three SUVs bearing Trivedi’s name crossing over to the wrong side of the road. It is not known when the clip was recorded.
The 20-second-long clip, shot from the back of a car, captures the vehicles coming in from the left and turning to the wrong side of the road. The rest of the traffic is proceeding normally, but the SUVs continue to drive on the wrong side.
Social Media Reacts To MLA’s Traffic Rules Violation
The clip was shared on X with the caption, “Mahesh Trivedi, BJP MLA from Kanpur, UP. Traffic was moving normally on the road but his cars crossed to the wrong side. If our politicians themselves are not serious about following traffic rules, what can we expect from ordinary citizens?”

Mahesh Trivedi’s Controversial Remark
In September, a purported video of the Kidwai Nagar MLA allegedly saying that MLAs not only draw salaries, but also receive a “10 per cent commission” from their respective MLA funds sparked controversy. According to PTI, Trivedi was reportedly seen telling party workers that grassroots workers get “nothing in return” while legislators benefit from both commissions and salaries. He also allegedly advised Hindus to keep swords and lances at home for their protection.
