Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt are set to marry on July 5, but the couple are keeping the celebrations far from the spotlight. Instead of a star-studded gathering, the actor has planned an intimate wedding
ceremony at his Bandra home, with only family members and close friends expected to be present.
The couple will reportedly register their marriage at Aamir’s residence in Mumbai before holding a small ceremony during the first half of the day. Unlike the grand celebrations organised for the 25th anniversary of Aamir Khan Productions earlier this year, the wedding is expected to be a private affair focused on those closest to them.
One of the most personal aspects of the ceremony will be the involvement of their children. Aamir Khan’s children, actor Junaid Khan, entrepreneur Ira Khan and son Azad, will all take part in the celebrations. Gauri Spratt’s son from her previous marriage is also expected to play an active role, making it a family-centred occasion.
Last month, Aamir confirmed to Variety India that the wedding would take place on July 5. While discussing marriage, he also spoke candidly about his current phase in life. “Iss umar mein shaadi karna mujhe shobha nahi deta (It doesn’t feel right to get married at my age).”
He then admitted that he feels very “settled” with Gauri now. “Now we both feel we are ready to take our relationship to the next level.” Aamir further revealed that he and Gauri are serious about each other and that they have also been living together. “I am at peace. Gauri and I are serious about each other and we are in a very committed space. We are partners, we are together. In my heart, I’m already married to her. So, to formalise our togetherness just seems like a natural progression of our partnership,” he said.
Aamir first introduced Bengaluru-based Gauri Spratt to the media during his 60th birthday celebrations in March this year. Since then, the couple have made a handful of public appearances together, including at the premiere of Sitaare Zameen Par. Professionally, Gauri has previously worked with a leading haircare brand in Bengaluru and is now assisting Aamir with his production house in Mumbai. Her move into the production business comes as the couple prepare to begin a new chapter together.
Aamir was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he shares two children, Junaid and Ira. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao, and the former couple have a son, Azad.
