Alia Bhatt and Indian yogi-author Sadhguru’s recent conversation has been the talk of the town ever since it was released. The conversation included various aspects of life, from fear of motherhood to even
their sleep schedules. During the conversation, Sadhguru was left surprised when Alia revealed her sleep schedule and advised her to decrease the hours.
When Sadhguru revealed that following an accident he got used to sleeping 4–5 hours a day, he said, “Now I sleep for four and a half, five hours, depends on the day. That’s it? What do you mean, that’s it? That’s a fourth of the day.” Alia shared that she sleeps for about 8 to 9 hours a day.
Surprised by the actress’ remark, he questioned, “When will you live?” To this, the actress said, “All we are told is sleep, rest, it’s when your body repairs itself. That’s what we are told.”
Following this, the spiritual orator added, “Why did you damage your body in the first place? People ask me, ‘What do you do to unwind?’ I say, ‘I don’t wind myself up.’ Why do you wind yourself and why do you go and unwind?”
“Oh my God, that’s true, actually. Why are we so wound up? But we are always wound up. You reach the end of the day and you’re tired, you want to sleep. And even after I’ve slept for 8 hours, I want to sleep, but then I have to wake up. I love sleeping,” Alia reacted as Sadhguru explained his perspective on sleeping less.
The guru further added to Alia’s reaction, “Nobody loves sleeping because when you’re really sleeping, you don’t exist, so what’s there to love about it? You don’t love your existence. You may like the restfulness it creates for you.”
