Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol’s On-Screen Performance
Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol were a part of the blockbuster film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was released in 2001. Sunny Deol as Tara Singh captured thousands of hearts with his fierce yet emotional portrayal of Tara Singh, an Indian patriot. Ameesha Patel, on the other hand, played Sakina, an educated Pakistani woman.
Two decades after the film’s release, the duo reunited for the sequel titled Gadar 2. Released in 2023, the film followed Tara and Sakina’s story amid rising India-Pakistan tensions of the 1970s.
What Happened in the Border 2 Trailer?
Coming back to Sunny Deol’s upcoming film, Border 2 dropped its trailer on Thursday evening. Unlike the 1997 film Border, the sequel focuses on how the Indian Armed Forces decide to unite to wage war on all fronts – air, sea and land.
The trailer opens with sweeping battle visuals and high-octane action sequences led by the stars. It then shifts to the backstories of the three protagonists, showing moments of their family banter, promises of return, and warnings issued to the enemy before they head into combat.
Amid the glimpses, Sunny Deol’s character emerges as a towering figure. At one point, he picks up a phone and tells a Pakistani, “Hume kya haraoge. Arey tumhare Pakistan me itne log nahi jitne humare yahan Eid par bakre kaate jate hain.” Additionally, his strong speech to his men, saying war is all about courage, deserves special attention.
