Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and an ensemble cast, is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. Ever since the project was announced,
it has remained in the spotlight, with every update generating immense buzz among fans. From the film’s grand scale and stellar cast to behind-the-scenes glimpses and production milestones, audiences have been eagerly awaiting every new development. Now, the latest report suggests that the makers of the film are planning a grand premiere in Dubai, which was initially put on hold.
According to Mid-Day, Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra have resumed discussions about hosting a grand premiere for Ramayana in the UAE. The plans were reportedly put on hold earlier due to tensions in West Asia. However, with the geopolitical situation easing following the US and Iran signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the makers are said to be moving forward with the idea once again. The team is now reportedly working towards staging the event, internally dubbed the “Desert Premiere”, in the UAE, with October 28 being considered as the tentative date.
Preparations for the high-profile event are reportedly already underway. According to the report, the team has begun the initial planning process, with location scouts evaluating multiple venues across Dubai. The premiere is expected to be attended by the film’s lead stars, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash. A source told the portal, “In April, the idea was put on hold because the timing didn’t feel right. Now that the situation has eased considerably, the team is again exploring the feasibility of taking ‘Ramayana’ to Dubai. The city was always the preferred choice because of its ability to stage large-scale events and the Indian diaspora.”
In the epic mythological film, Ranbir will be seen as Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi will essay Sita’s character. Yash will be portraying Ravana and Sunny Deol will be seen as Lord Hanuman. The grand film is slated to hit theatres on Diwali 2026.
